Proofreading

Looks at spelling, punctuation, capitalization, diction, house style, and citations. I will also note obvious errors or inconsistencies. This should be your final stop before publication.

 

Copyediting

Your basic copyedit looks for problems with syntax, agreement, clarity and sense, and factual errors.

 

Line Editing

More in-depth than copyediting, line editing looks at style, overall voice, and the flow of the piece, as well as those items mentioned above. Notes confusing areas that should be clarified or expanded upon.

 

Production Editing

Takes the hassle of manuscript trafficking out of your hands. I will ensure that the project goes through its rounds of proofreading and copyediting (either your freelancers or mine) and communicate directly with the author(s), editor(s), and compositor to address any problems that arise, all within your pre-determined budget.
